Acclaimed mystery writer Josephine Tey (1896 or 1897 - 1952) was born Elizabeth MacKintosh in Scotland. She attended the Scottish Royal Academy. She gave up a career in physical education to write and to care for her father after her mother's death. She wrote as Gordon Daviot from 1929 to 1946, including The Man in the Queue (1929), her first book. Using Josephine Tey as a second pseudonym, she wrote several more Inspector Grant mysteries, including The Daughter of Time (1951). It has been named by the Mystery Writers of America as one of the 100 best mysteries (ranked #4) and is also available unabridged from The Audio Partners. Stephen Thorne is a veteran thespian who has acted with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Old Vic Company. He participated in over 2,000 broadcasts for the BBC, and also has read many audiobooks, among them several for The Audio Partners that have been acclaimed by reviewers.
